‘तो’ नववीत असताना नापास झाला आणि आपला मुलगा आता शिक्षणात टिकणार नाही, या समजातून वडिलांचा त्याच्यावरील विश्वास कमी झाला. वडिलांचा गमावलेला हा विश्वास संपादन करण्यासाठी तो इरेला पेटला आणि त्याने चमत्कार घडविला.
अभियांत्रिकी प्रवेशासाठी अत्यंत कठीण समजली जाणारी ‘जेईई मेन्स’ या परीक्षेत त्याने चक्क ९६ टक्के परसेंटाईल गुण मिळवून सर्वांनाच आश्चर्यचकीत केले. अत्यंत प्रतिकूल परिस्थितीत हे यश मिळविणारा विद्यार्थी आहे सोहम अविनाश राऊत.
‘जेईई मेन्स’ ही अभियांत्रिकी महाविद्यालयात प्रवेशासाठी घेण्यात येणारी सर्वात मोठी आणि तितकीच कठीण परीक्षा मानली जाते. देशभरातील आयआयटी आणि इतर प्रतिष्ठित अभियांत्रिकी महाविद्यालयांमध्ये प्रवेश घेण्यासाठी ही परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण होणे अनिवार्य आहे. नुकताच या परीक्षेचा निकाल जाहीर झाला.
या परीक्षेत यवतमाळ जिल्ह्यातील आर्णी येथील श्री.म.द. भारती महाविद्यालयातील सोहम अविनाश राऊत या विद्यार्थ्याने तब्बल ९६ परसेंटाईल गुण प्राप्त केले आहे. अत्यंत प्रतिकूल परिस्थितीत त्याने मिळविलेल्या या यशामुळे ग्रामीण विद्यार्थ्यांपुढे एक आदर्श निर्माण झाला आहे.
सोहम हा महाज्योतीतर्फे घेण्यात येत असलेल्या जेईई मेन्स प्रशिक्षण योजनेतील प्रशिक्षणार्थी आहे. आईने दिलेल्या प्रेरणेमुळे, प्रोत्साहनामुळे मी जेईई देऊ शकलो. वडील शेतकरी असून, घरची आर्थिक परिस्थिती हलाखीची आहे. मी शाळेत असतांना चांगल्या गुणांनी उत्तीर्ण व्हायचो. इयत्ता नववीत असताना आजारी पडलो आणि विज्ञान विषयात नापास झालो.
माझ्या या निकालामुळे माझ्या वडिलांच्या मनावर गंभीर परिणाम झाला आणि त्यांचा माझ्यावरील विश्वास उडाला. मला दहावीमधे चांगला अभ्यास करून वडिलांचा विश्वास मिळवायचा होता. पण त्याच वेळेस करोनामुळे टाळेबंदी लागली. ऑनलाईन अभ्यासासाठी वडिलांनी आर्थिक तंगीतही स्मार्टफोन घेऊन दिला. सतत हातात फोन असल्यामुळे मला गेमची सवय लागली आणि त्याचा परिणाम माझ्या दहावीतील निकालावर झाला, असे सोहमने सांगितले.

Soham is a trainee of JEE Mains training scheme conducted by Mahajyoti. I was able to give JEE because of my mother's motivation and encouragement. The father is a farmer and the financial situation of the house is poor. When I was in school, I used to pass with good marks. I fell ill in class 9 and failed in science.
This decision of mine seriously affected my father's mind and lost his faith in me. I wanted to earn my father's trust by studying well in class 10th. But at the same time there was a layoff due to Corona. Father brought a smartphone for online studies even in financial straits. Being constantly on the phone made me addicted to games and it affected my results in class 10, said Soham.
