सध्या चंद्रपूर जिल्ह्यातील लिलाव झालेले चाळीस घाटातील वाळूचा उपसा 1 मार्च पासून अनिश्चित काळासाठी बंद करण्याचे आदेश जिल्हा खनिकर्म अधिकाऱ्यांनी दिले आहे. वास्तविक बघता जिल्ह्यातील घाटांना १० जून २०२३ पर्यंत उत्खनन करण्याची परवानगी देण्यात आली आहे व ३० सप्टेंबर २०२३ पर्यंत साठवण व विक्री करण्याची परवानगी घाटधारकांना देण्यात आली आहे. मात्र या घाटांची पर्यावरण मान्यता 28 फेब्रुवारी पर्यंत होती व ह्या पर्यावरण मान्यतेला अद्याप मुदतवाढ मिळालेली नाही.Auctioned sand extraction in Chandrapur district closed indefinitely from March 1! : Order of District Mining Officer
पर्यावरण मान्यता देण्याचे अधिकार राज्यस्तरीय पर्यावरण समितीला आहे. समितीची बैठक 11 फेब्रुवारी रोजी पार पडली मात्र अजूनही काय निर्णय घेण्यात आला ह्याची माहिती खणीकर्म विभागाला प्राप्त झाली नसल्याने विभागाने 1 मार्च पासुन रेती घाट अनिश्चित काळासाठी बंद करण्याचे आदेश दिले असल्याचे आदेश देण्यात आले आहे.
पर्यावरण अनुमती प्राप्त होईपर्यंत घाटातून वाळूचे उत्खनन करताना आढळून आल्यास पर्यावरण अनुमती शिवाय केलेले उत्खनन अवैध समजून त्यावर महाराष्ट्र जमीन महसून अधिनियम १९६६ चे कलम ४८ (७) (८) अन्वये दंडात्मक कार्यवाही केली जाणार आहे. त्याचवेळी साठवणुकीच्या ठिकाणी अनुज्ञेय असलेल्या परिमाणा एवढी वाळूची विक्री करण्यास परवानगी असेल असे जिल्हा खनिकर्म अधिकारी सुरेश नैताम यांनी सांगितले.
At present, the mining authorities of the district have ordered to stop the extraction of sand from Chalis Ghat, which has been auctioned in Chandrapur district for an indefinite period from March 1. As a matter of fact, the ghats in Baghata district have been given permission to mine till June 10, 2023 and the ghat owners have been given permission to store and sell till September 30, 2023. But the environmental approval of these ghats was till February 28 and this environmental approval has not yet been extended.
The state level environment committee has the authority to grant environmental approval. The meeting of the committee was held on February 11, but as the mining department has not yet received the information about the decision, it has been ordered that the department has ordered the closure of Reti Ghat from March 1 for an indefinite period.
If found mining sand from the ghat until environmental clearance is obtained, the mining without environmental clearance will be deemed illegal and penal action will be taken under Section 48 (7) (8) of the Maharashtra Land Revenue Act, 1966. Meanwhile, District Mining Officer Suresh Naitam said that it will be allowed to sell sand to the extent permissible at the storage place.
