‘अमृत’ पाणी पुरवठा योजनेचे भिजतघोंगडे गेल्या पाच वर्षांपासून सुरू असताना या योजनेच्या कामामुळे शहरात काही लोकांचा बळी गेला तर अनेकजन जायबंदी झाले. मात्र आज सकाळी चापडोह पाणीपुरवठा योजनेची जीर्ण झालेली पाईपलाईन अनपेक्षितपणे फुटली. या घटनेचे सीसीटीव्ही फुटेज मिळाले असून जमिनीतून मोठा स्फोट होऊन पाणी वर उडाल्याचे त्यात दिसते. पाईलपलाईन फुटली त्यावेळी तेथून एक तरुणी दुचाकीवर जात होती. ती या घटनेत जखमी झाल्याची माहिती आहे. पाईपमध्ये साचलेले शेकडो लिटर पाणी रस्त्यावर आल्याने हा संपूर्ण परिसर जलमय झाला. या घटनेमुळे शहरात कधीही मोठी दुर्घटना होऊ शकते, याचे प्रत्यंतर आले.#yavatmal
अँग्लो हिंदी हायस्कूल नजीक मजिप्राचे कार्यालय आहे. येथे शहराला पाणीपुरवठा करणाऱ्या दोन मोठ्या पाण्याच्या टाक्या आहेत. या टाकीत चापडोह धरणातून आलेले पाणी पोहचविण्यासाठी जुनी पाईपलाईन आहे. शहरात निळोणा धरणातून पाणी पुरवठा करण्यासाठी 1972 पाईपलाईन टाकण्यात आली होती. कालांतराने याच पाईपलाईनद्वारे चापडोह धरणातील पाणीपुरवठा होत होता. चार वर्षांपूर्वी शहरात अमृत पाणीपुरवठा योजनेचे काम सुरू झाले. या योजनेंतर्गत संपूर्ण शहरात नवीन पण निकृष्ट, अशी पाईपलाईन टाकण्यात आली. आज तीच पाईपलाईन फुटली असावी, अशी शंका व्यक्त होत होती. मात्र आज फुटलेला पाईप चापडोह पाणी पुरवठा योजनेचा होता.
त्यातून शहराला पाणीपुरवठा होत नव्हता, मात्र त्या पाईपमध्ये पाणी भरून होते. अत्यंत जीर्ण झाल्यामुळे पाईपलाईनमधील पाण्याच्या दबावाने, जमीनीला फोडून पाणी वर आले, अशी माहिती मजिप्राचे अभियंता प्रफुल्ल व्यवहारे यांनी दिली. या पाईपलाईन दुरूस्तीचे काम सुरू असून भविष्यात ही सर्व पाईपलाईन काढून टाकण्यात येईल, असे व्यवहारे यांनी सांगितले. प्रशासनाने दखल घेऊन मजिप्राचा कारभार सुधारण्यासाठी निर्देश देण्याची मागणी यावेळी नागरिकांनी केली.

The CCTV footage of this incident has been obtained and it shows a huge explosion from the ground and the water shot up. When the pipeline burst, a young woman was riding a bike from there.It is reported that she was injured in the incident. As hundreds of liters of water accumulated in the pipe came to the road, the entire area was flooded. It was revealed that due to this incident, a major accident can happen in the city at any time.
Anglo Hindi High School is near Majipra office. There are two large water tanks that supply water to the city. There is an old pipeline to convey water from Chapdoh Dam to this tank. A pipeline was laid in 1972 to supply water from Nilona Dam to the city. Over time, water supply from Chapdoh Dam was being supplied through this pipeline. Four years ago, the work of Amrit water supply scheme started in the city.
Under this scheme, new but inferior pipelines were laid across the city. It was suspected that the same pipeline might have burst today. But the pipe that burst today was of Chapdoh water supply scheme.
There was no water supply to the city from it, but water was filling up in that pipe. Engineer of Majipra Prafulla Vyavaye informed that the water pressure in the pipeline caused the water to burst through the ground due to severe wear and tear. The work of repairing these pipelines is going on and all these pipelines will be removed in the future, he said. At this time, the citizens demanded that the administration should take notice and give instructions to improve the affairs of the Majipra.
